UBT and University of Gjirokastër “Eqrem Çabej” Unite Visions for Education and Innovation
29/01/2026UBT and University of Gjirokastër “Eqrem Çabej” have signed an academic cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening institutional ties and developing joint projects in the fields of higher education, scientific research, and innovation.

The agreement was signed during an official visit by the delegation from “Eqrem Çabej” University, led by its Rector, Prof. Dr. Jaho Cana, to UBT’s Science, Innovation, and Technology Park in Prishtina. The delegation was warmly welcomed by UBT Rector, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, together with UBT’s academic staff.
During the meeting, the rectors of both institutions emphasized the importance of inter-university collaboration within the Albanian-speaking region, highlighting staff and student exchanges, the development of joint study programs, as well as the implementation of mutually beneficial research and scientific projects.
UBT Rector, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, presented UBT’s unique model, particularly the role of the Science, Innovation, and Technology Park as a bridge connecting academia, industry, and innovation. He emphasized that UBT remains committed to building strategic regional and international partnerships.
“We have envisioned creating a transdisciplinary ecosystem, where collaboration is at the core of our strategy and the university has a direct impact on society,” Hajrizi stated.
For his part, Rector of “Eqrem Çabej” University, Prof. Dr. Jaho Cana, praised UBT’s philosophy and mission, describing the institution as a university born to serve society and create tangible value.
“You were born as a university to provide benefits to society. You are a university for giving to society, and I am sincerely positively impressed by what I have seen here,” Rector Cana said.
He added that cooperation with a university like UBT is a priority for “Eqrem Çabej” University, emphasizing the importance of building sustainable academic bridges between higher education institutions in the region.
“Collaboration with a university like yours is our priority, and we are confident that this agreement will produce tangible results for both institutions,” Cana added.
The visit also included a tour of UBT’s Science Park, where the delegation had the opportunity to see the laboratories, innovation centers, and modern infrastructure that support education, research, and technological development.
