Rector Hajrizi Invited to the Global Event “Technogym Innovation Outlook 2026”, Presents the Potential of UBT Smart City to Become UBT Wellness City
02/02/2026The Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, has been invited to participate in the international annual event of the global leading company Technogym, “Technogym Innovation Outlook 2026”, which is being held in Italy and brings together hundreds of professionals, experts, and representatives from around the world.

This prestigious event serves as a global platform for the presentation of the most advanced technologies in the fields of sport, fitness, health, and wellbeing, as well as for discussions on new trends and opportunities for international cooperation, developed by and in collaboration with Technogym.
During this visit, which comes as a result of a previous visit by Technogym representatives to UBT, Rector Hajrizi met and held discussions with leaders of Technogym’s departments of education, science, development, and projects. The discussions focused particularly on cooperation in implementing Technogym technologies and programs within the UBT ecosystem, enabling the full realization of UBT Wellness City as an essential component of UBT Smart City.
In this way, the UBT 5S (Small Smart Self-Sustain City) development model, implemented within UBT Smart City, is further enriched with the wellbeing and lifestyle component. This creates a unique model that represents a new way of urban living—an example of how advanced technology, artificial intelligence, sport, nutrition, health, and rehabilitation can be interconnected within a single, integrated, personalized, and sustainable ecosystem.
Through this ecosystem, pupils, students, academic and administrative staff, institutions, and the wider community of Kosovo are offered a comprehensive system for fitness, wellness, sport, rehabilitation, and lifestyle, built upon international best practices and supported by the most advanced technologies and systems, including artificial intelligence, which enables personalized support for each individual.
This vision is made possible by the fact that the UBT ecosystem has already been built on these foundations, encompassing educational, scientific, innovative, developmental, and clinical dimensions, positioning UBT as a regional and beyond regional hub in the field of integrated wellbeing and health.
A partnership with Technogym is expected to directly contribute to improving the quality of services across UBT campuses, training centers, healthcare and hospital services, as well as to the development of sports activities—further strengthening UBT’s role as a leader in innovation, social transformation, and economic development. As the President of Technogym also stated, we are transitioning—and must transition—from the Green Economy to the Wellness Economy.
