Professional preparation of accounting students through practical activities at UBT
22/01/2025As part of the lecture in the course “Introduction to Financial Accounting”, within the Faculty of Management, Business and Economics at UBT, led by the lecturer of the course Prof. Fidane Spahija Gjikolli, a special activity was held that offered students an excellent opportunity to connect theory with practice. The activity aimed to provide students with an in-depth and interactive experience, enabling them to better understand real accounting processes and prepare for the demands of the labor market.
Invited to this activity was Ismail Qemali, a well-known accountant from the firm “Kamila” in Prizren, who shared his rich professional experience with the students. He had the opportunity to demonstrate the use of the accounting software Logo, a widely used tool in the accounting industry, which enables fast and efficient processing of financial data. The software was explained in detail, helping students understand the practical application of the theoretical knowledge they had learned up to that point.
During the activity, several key topics for the professional preparation of students were addressed, providing practical examples of accounting entries, which illustrated the real work processes in a firm. The importance of preparing key financial statements was emphasized, where the processes and techniques used in drafting these documents were explained in detail, including the analysis and interpretation of financial data.
Another important element of this lecture was the help offered to students regarding the importance of combining theory with practice. This activity aims to provide students with valuable insights into the current demands of the labor market, enabling them to face the challenges they may encounter during their future professional engagements.
This activity represents an important step in the professional development of UBT students and contributes to strengthening the links between theoretical knowledge and its application in the real world of work. The combination of these two elements is key to creating capable professionals ready to face the challenges of the accounting sector.
