Kosova’s representative team has begun preparations for the world’s largest robotics competition, the First Global Challenge, which will take place this month in Panama. For several months, they have been working intensively in UBT’s mechatronics laboratories to represent Kosova in this prestigious competition.

With the support of UBT, Kosova will participate in a contest featuring over 180 countries from around the world. This passionate team, made up of talented young people in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, will put their robotics skills to the test.

The team’s mentor, Elita Hajrizi, stated that preparations are in the final phase and that the team has built an innovative robot that will be presented at the First Global Challenge 2025.

“Participating in this international competition is an extraordinary experience. Seeing your country represented at such a major event is a moment of pride, and now that we are in the final stages of preparation, we are enjoying every step of this exciting journey,” said Elita Hajrizi, the team’s mentor.

This year’s theme will focus on developing solutions to maintain biodiversity balance and combat climate change, thus contributing to global efforts to protect the environment.

Furthermore, UBT has been awarded a gold medal for its contribution to the First Global Challenge, as well as for its continuous support in developing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education worldwide.
