Focus on Institutions and Economic Development: Harvard Researcher Presents Vision for Sustainable Prosperity at EOQ Congress at UBT

For the first time, Kosovo has become the center of the European quality community, hosting the 67th Congress of the European Organization for Quality at UBT’s Science, Innovation and Technology Park. This major event marks a historic milestone for the country and demonstrates UBT’s commitment to strengthening European cooperation and advancing innovation.

As part of this prestigious congress, the proceedings continued with important sessions in the concert hall, featuring key presentations delivered through online connections with internationally renowned experts.

One of the highlights of the session was the contribution of Ms. Fatema Z. Sumar, from Harvard University’s Center for International Development.

In her presentation entitled “Quality Institutions, Economic Development and Sustainable Prosperity,” Ms. Sumar provided an in-depth analysis of the indispensable role that reliable institutional structures play in driving long-term economic growth. She explained how high quality standards and good governance are essential to building a sustainable economy, drawing on international examples and practices implemented in developing countries.
