The Deputy Head of the German Embassy in Kosovo, Christian Böttcher, visited the UBT Smart City, where he was warmly welcomed by UBT Rector, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi.

During the meeting, the role of UBT as a higher education institution setting new standards in linking education with entrepreneurship and industry was highlighted. UBT’s development model, based on the strategic integration of education, scientific research, innovation, and business development, was recognized as a visionary approach delivering measurable results.

Rector Hajrizi presented the delegation with UBT’s unique ecosystem, where the Science, Innovation, and Technology Park in Lipjan integrates advanced laboratories, sophisticated technologies, and direct collaboration with industry. This environment creates tangible bridges between academia and the private sector, preparing students for the global labor market.

It was emphasized that UBT, as a Premium member of KDWV, plays a key role in connecting Kosovo with universities and higher education institutions in Germany, Austria, and beyond. Strong international partnerships and a practical orientation make UBT a natural meeting point between academic knowledge and economic development.

Discussions focused on further expanding cooperation, with an emphasis on sustainable development, strengthening innovation, and deepening cross-border academic collaboration. UBT’s scale, strategic clarity, and entrepreneurial spirit left a strong impression on the German representatives, who expressed their readiness to build on this shared momentum in the future.
