At the UBT Science, Innovation and Technology Park in Lipjan, the Italian Corner and the CELI Certification Center were officially inaugurated, marking an important step in strengthening academic and cultural cooperation between UBT – University for Business and Technology and the Embassy of Italy in Kosovo.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of Italy to Kosovo, Maurizio Antonini, the Rector of UBT, Edmond Hajrizi, as well as professors and students.

In addition to inaugurating the new book corner, through which UBT received donations of contemporary literature, the ceremony also included the certification of participants from the Italian language course at UBT, as well as the awarding of certificates to students who successfully completed the international Italian language certification CELI.

The Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, emphasized that the creation of this corner represents an important step toward expanding international cooperation and providing new opportunities for students.

“UBT has built over the years a broad network of cooperation with European institutions and projects. This initiative is part of our efforts to create more opportunities for our students and researchers. The Italian Corner will serve as an important space for those who wish to deepen their knowledge of the Italian language and culture, opening new pathways for academic cooperation and joint projects in the future,” said Rector Hajrizi.

He added that UBT aims to continue developing joint projects with Italian institutions, considering this collaboration an important opportunity for the academic and professional development of students.

Meanwhile, the Ambassador of Italy to Kosovo, Maurizio Antonini, praised the close cooperation with UBT and highlighted the importance of promoting the Italian language and culture in Kosovo.

“I am very happy and proud to be here today at UBT. The cooperation between the Embassy of Italy and UBT is very strong, and this project is a concrete demonstration of that relationship. Through this book corner, we aim to promote the Italian language, culture, and academic ties between Italy and Kosovo,” said Ambassador Antonini.

He added that such initiatives create new opportunities for Kosovar students to become more familiar with Italian culture and to build bridges of cooperation in the fields of education, science, and innovation.

The inauguration of the Italian Corner marks an important step in strengthening academic, cultural, and institutional relations between UBT and Italy, creating new spaces for knowledge exchange, international collaboration, and student engagement.

At the conclusion of the event, participants had the opportunity to visit the book corner at the UBT Library, which will serve as an important resource for students and researchers interested in learning and exploring more about the Italian language, literature, and culture.
