Artificial Intelligence in Focus in Information Systems at UBT’s International Conference
26/10/2026As part of UBT’s International Conference, the Faculty of Information Systems presented scientific papers addressing developments in artificial intelligence, data governance, intelligent automation, and digital transformation.
The first session was chaired by Besnik Skenderi, with Blerton Abazi serving as co-chair. The following papers were presented:
- Dr. Blerton Abazi – “Beyond Model Accuracy: Data Governance and Continuous Evidence in the Assurance of AI System”
- Agim Zuzaku – “Large Language Models for Managerial Decision Support in Hospitality”
- Besnik Skenderi and Diamanta Skenderi – “Agile Project Management Under Constraint: A Framework for Innovation Safety and Accountability”
- Besa Alija – “Process Modelling for the Digitalisation of Third-Cycle Studies: A Case Study at South East European University”
The second session was chaired by Ylber Limani, with Agim Zuzaku serving as co-chair. The presentations covered artificial intelligence, information systems resilience, predictive maintenance, smart buildings, and the impact of generative AI on higher education.
The following papers were presented:
- Ylber Limani and Melliha Lutfiu – “Information Systems Resilience and Digital Strategy: An Empirical Study of Kosovo in Global Comparison Using AI and SEM”
- Ylber Limani, Edmond Hajrizi, and Mirlinda Gashi Jashanica – “An Empirical Study of AI Implementation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education Institutions”
- Dashmir Istrefi and Dimitar Stojkoski – “From Telemetry to Foresight: Self-Evolving Predictive Maintenance and Driver-Behavior Intelligence on a Local-First Telematics Hub”
- Dashmir Istrefi and Dimitar Stojkoski – “Toward Agentic Building Automation: A Protocol-Agnostic Edge–Cloud Platform with LLM-Driven Rule Synthesis for Heterogeneous and Legacy IoT Devices”
- Dashmir Istrefi and Dimitar Stojkoski – “From Telemetry to Disclosure: A Local-First IoT and AI Platform for Continuous, ESRS-Aligned ESG Monitoring in Smart Buildings”
- Gelina Maliqi – “Generative Artificial Intelligence and University Student Learning: A Global Synthesis of Effects, Mechanisms and Conditions”
Through these presentations, UBT’s Faculty of Information Systems highlighted the importance of scientific research and innovation in developing contemporary digital solutions.
The topics explored demonstrated the increasingly significant role of artificial intelligence and information systems in improving decision-making, enhancing the quality of education, and increasing institutional efficiency. They also highlighted new opportunities for academic collaboration and technological development in an increasingly digital world.
