Kosovo has ranked fourth in the world at FIRST Global Challenge 2026, the international robotics competition held in Incheon, South Korea. The First Kosova team, represented by UBT, achieved this success as part of an alliance with Greece, Poland, and Mexico, competing among 191 participating countries from around the world.

The team representing Kosovo demonstrated a high level of technological preparation, robotics and programming skills, as well as successful international collaboration, advancing to the playoff stage and competing for the highest positions in the competition.

This year’s competition focused on developing technological solutions for wildfire prevention and management. Through robotics and engineering challenges, participating teams engaged in creative problem-solving and the practical application of scientific knowledge.

The Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, highly praised this achievement, emphasizing the importance of investing in technological education and nurturing young talent.

“ Kosovo’s fourth-place ranking in the world is powerful evidence of the talent, knowledge, and innovative potential of our young people. This achievement demonstrates that when young people are given opportunities, support, and access to technology and innovation, they can compete on equal footing with the best teams in the world. UBT will continue to invest in the development of new generations, preparing them for the challenges of the future and proudly representing Kosovo on the international stage,” said Rector Hajrizi.

This international achievement marks another important step in the journey of young Kosovars toward innovation and technological development.
